with a proficiency in ecological design. TOPIA, meaning 'place' endeavors to create unique environments that embody both the human intentions and the site influences of a particular place.
 
TOPIA design provides architectural and community design services, green design and construction consulting, and strives for excellence and professionalism in sustainable design and intelligent construction.

The office is located at 826 B Hinton Avenue in Charlottesville VA. In the heart of Downtown Belmont, upstairs above Tavola restaurant.
 

Greg Jackson, architect and principal of TOPIA design, has 30 years of design and project management experience on residential, institutional, commercial, and community design projects. As a legacy LEED Accredited Professional, ecological designer and educator, Greg has extensive experience and interest in sustainable architectural design including green urbanism, eco-community design, and ecological construction. 

Before forming TOPIA design, Greg was an Associate at William McDonough + Partners where he served six years in multiple capacities on a variety of projects. While at WM+P he was the designer and project manager of the Visitors Center for Bernheim, Kentucky’s Arboretum, which won the 2005 highest KY AIA design award in addition to being the first LEED platinum building in KY and surrounding states, and for WM+P.

Greg Jackson has presented at conferences and universities on green/sustainable design and LEED, and was the T.R.U.E. Visiting Professor for Sustainable Design at the Univ. of KY School of Architecture 2005 to 2008.

Greg is a sole practitioner therefore clients get his full attention to all aspects of every project. No handing off of projects here!
